Leave the city behind and discover some of Morocco’s wildest and most breathtaking scenery on this full-day, multi-faceted tour. Following pickup from the meeting point or your hotel at 8:30 am you will be driven first to the Agafay Desert where you can enjoy a peaceful camel ride in a secluded area, followed by a little relaxation and hot "Moroccan whiskey" in a Berber tent. After this we we will take a 4x4 to cross the desert, passing through the picturesque Kik Platau and Takatkoust Dam on our way to the heart of the High Atlas, to an area with a national park where our walking adventure will begin. We will pass through the quaint Berber villages dotted throughout the Imlil Valley--stopping as frequently as you like to rest and take photos-- then enjoy a leisurely lunch break at a charming Berber home where you can take in the stunning views from my rooftop terrace as you dine on a delicious Berber meal prepared lovingly in the traditional Moroccan way. You can also take part in the tea making yourself if you'd like to have this experience. After lunch we will either continue our walk through the hills or we can take a short drive to visit a cozy cooperative of women who carefully transform Argan nuts into Argan oil by hand.
Finally, we will take pictures against the backdrop of the very scenic Tahnout village, after which we will make our way back to Marrakech where you will be dropped off at your accommodation.
Tuesday and Saturday tours also include a visit to a local Berber farmer’s market. As this is a private tour, the duration of the hike can be shortened or lengthened according to your preferences.
For anyone wishing to skip the walk, our 4x4 car can take you all the way to the top of the village where we will have lunch.
